Introduction Post

Hi, there! My name is Tyler Stoner, and I am a senior majoring in Government and minoring in Interdisciplinary Innovations & Entrepreneurship. This will be the second course I have taken with Professor Luchs after taking Customer Insights for Innovation this past fall. As my presence may suggest, I really enjoyed the course and am super excited for this semester in Sustainability Inspired Innovation & Design!

My journey with William & Mary has not been the most conventional out there. I transferred to the College of William & Mary after completing my freshman year at the University of Central Florida. While I consider myself very fortunate for my time at UCF, I realized it was not quite the fit I was hoping for. I embarked on a mission to find my fit in school. Thankfully, William & Mary exceeded all my expectations. There is something special and compassionate about William & Mary- transferring here was simply the best decision I have ever made. Indeed, I am a sentimental senior gearing up for the post-grad life.

Additionally, in my off-the-beaten-path journey, I left William & Mary for a semester to complete my childhood dream of doing the Disney College Program in the Fall of 2019. I was able to make some magic for Walt Disney World at EPCOT's World Showcase. Then, I came back to William & Mary for the Spring 2020 semester.

Currently, I am a student leader for the Office of Community Engagement's Williamsburg Engagement program. This has been a highlight of my time at William & Mary. Outside of school, I am a Consulting/Marketing intern for a consulting firm.

I am so excited to work with you and get to know you! I am sure this will be a great semester!

  2. Hey Tyler—I'm so late to the game, and I know we've already worked together on our brief case assignment, but I wanted to pop in and say how glad I am to have met you. The Disney College Program sounds like a blast, I love how you've combined creativity and compassion with consulting and marketing; that is a force to be reckoned with for sure! Glad to have you on the team.
